Shiri Krebs earned her LL.B. in Law and B.A. in International Relations, with honors, from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2005. In 2007 she earned her M.A. in International Law, also with honors. During her studies, Krebs worked as a research and teaching assistant in public international law and presented weekly lectures to undergraduate students. From 2005 to 2010, Krebs served as a legal advisor on International Law matters to Chief-Justice Dorit Beinisch, the President of the Israeli Supreme Court. Throughout this time, she continued teaching at the Hebrew University, and was granted, in 2008, the Dean's award for excellent junior staff members at the Law Faculty. She currently holds a research position at the Israeli Democracy Institute, and develops independent research projects on democracy and terror.

In 2011, Krebs earned her J.S.M from Stanford Law School. Her thesis, which focused on judicial review of preventive detentions, is forthcoming in the Vanderbilt Transnational Law Journal. She is now working on her J.S.D dissertation at Stanford Law School, which explores the impact of socio-psychological biases and distortion of information on conflict resolution and international fact-finding. She was recently awarded the Goldstone prize for best paper written in the field of conflict resolution, as well as the Fischman scholarship for doctoral studies.
