CISAC co-director helps distinguish candidates' stances on nuclear security threat
Appeared in Oakland Tribune, October 11, 2004
"The biggest difference between the two campaigns is that Kerry is trying to put more money into a wider set of nuclear security measures than the Bush administration has been willing to do," CISAC Co-Director Scott Sagan told Ian Hoffman of the Oakland Tribune.
Presidential candidates raise nuclear issues every 20 years, observes Hoffman. After President George Bush and Senator John Kerry discussed nuclear nonproliferation in the first of their three debates this election season, Hoffman examined their positions, drawing on the expertise of Sagan and other specialists.
