Aranzazu has been working in international affairs for North Carolina State University (NCSU) where she took the lead on establishing bilateral links between NCSU and several Indian Institutes of Technology and The Energy and Resources Institute in New Delhi. She received a B.A. in Geography and Anthropology from UC Berkeley and an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon where she focused on international environmental policy and community development. She has spent time working and studying in the South Pacific, Europe, Mexico, and India.

She will be focusing on communications and research work for PESD.
