John Moore was a research assisant to William Perry and an MA Student in the Russian, Eastern European and Eurasian Studies Program at Stanford. This education is part of his formal training as a U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer specializing in the countries of the Former Soviet Union. John holds a BA from San Diego State University in International Business. Prior to commissioning as a tank officer John served for 2 years in Berlin in signals intelligence. During more than ten years as a tank officer, John served in various command and staff positions throughout the United States, as well as in Bosnia, Korea, Germany, and Iraq. After graduating from Stanford in December of 2009, John will attend U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He will then serve in military headquarters, Offices of Defense Cooperation and embassies in Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union.
