Sara Selis is a writer and editor with a journalism background who has specialized in healthcare/medicine for most of her career. As information editor and outreach coordinator at CHP/PCOR, she produces the centers' quarterly newsletter, writes and promotes press releases about notable research results, responds to media inquiries, and serves as a liaison with CHP/PCOR affiliates and the public.

Before joining CHP/PCOR in September 2003, she worked for Stanford Medical Center's Office of Communication and Public Affairs, where she wrote for the office's various publications and did media relations work. She previously covered the healthcare industry as a reporter for Business First newspaper in Columbus, Ohio, and later served as associate editor for San Francisco-based Healthcare Business magazine (now HealthLeaders). She received a BA in English literature and sociology from the University of Denver, and an MA in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She speaks Spanish and serves as a Spanish-English interpreter at the Rotacare Free Clinic (Mountain View).
