Colonel John W. Eisenhauer is an Army Senior Service College Fellow at the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University whose research will focus on U.S. Nuclear Policy and Non-proliferation.  He was commissioned into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from the United States Military Academy in 1990.  John possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

His previous assignments include service from platoon leader through battalion commander in mechanized, airborne, Stryker, wheeled, and special operations units.  His operational experience includes service in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom, as well as service in Hurricane Fran Relief Operations and Operation New Horizons in the Eastern Caribbean in the mid-90s.  His peacetime overseas service includes assignments in Germany, Korea, and Dominica.  He most recently served as the Engineer Organizational Integrator in the Headquarters, Department of the Army, Deputy Chief of Staff G-3/5/7 Force Management and is slated to serve as Commander, Portland (Oregon) District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Summer 2011.

John is a native of Watertown, New York and is married to the former Kate McGlynn of Frederick, Maryland.
