The objectives of this project are:

  1. to develop methods for the automated creation of guidelines form evidence-based decision models, using a web-based system called ALCHEMIST
  2. to create and validate guidelines based on the findings of the Cardiac Arrhythmia PORT, a five-year multi-institutional study of methods to prevent sudden cardiac death, and
  3. to evaluate, in a randomized controlled trial, clinicians' use and their satisfaction with this study's web-based guideline system compared with traditional guidelines.
