Three CISAC honors students garner top awards

in the news

Varun Srinivasan Sivaram, a double major in engineering physics and international relations who will enter CISAC's honors program next fall, has won a Truman Scholarship. Philippe de Koning, a current student, has been awarded both a Fulbright and Ford fellowship and has accepted the Fulbright. Sam Stone, also a current student, has won a Fulbright and will attend Moscow State University next year. Read more »

CISAC's William Perry and Hoover Distinguished Fellow George Shultz joined President Barack Obama as the U.N. Security Council unanimously approved a U.S.-sponsored resolution last month committing all nations to work for a nuclear-weapons-free world. Read more »

CISAC's Siegfried Hecker receives 2009 Enrico Fermi Award

Professor Siegfried S. Hecker, co-director of the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) and director emeritus of Los Alamos National Laboratory, has been named a recipient of the 2009 Enrico Fermi Award, one of the U.S. government's oldest and most prestigious science and technology prizes.
